A Most Reluctant Passenger.
Early morning transport for horses on the railways was still common place into the fifties and sixties, with many racehorses being transported by rail to race meetings across the country.
The scene is at Maiden Lane Goods Depot, London. Situated west of York Way and north of Kings Cross, it features a very sedate heavy horse who knows all about being transported by train, being loaded into a very smart LMS horsebox.
Unfortunately, the frisky youngster isn’t very happy and is showing his reluctance to take part in the proceedings.
